A tall sash on the south side, and light that moves across the room all afternoon. The whole job is about not getting in its way.
The bath stands under the window. The washstand sits on the opposite wall with a marble top and a marble splashback cut from the same block, so the veining carries from horizontal to vertical without an argument. Finding a slab that would give both pieces took three months and two trips to a yard in Wiltshire.
The rest is plaster, painted timber and nothing else. No tile at all except the shower recess, which is out of sight from the door.
